| Needs List - Tutoring Program
Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteer Tutors - The Shared Ministry's After-School Tutoring Program is in desperate need of tutors. Our student enrollment is larger than ever this year. If you are available on Wednesday afternoons from 4-6pm, we could use your help. We work with children, ages 6-12, on homework for about 1 hour. After homework help, tutors and students listen to a short bible lesson presented by Ms. Judi or Pastor Mike. Then, to wrap-up each session, everyone shares a hot dinner and some conversation. If you are interested hi helping out, why not stop by some Wednesday to observe. We hope to see you there. Volunteer Cooks - Every tutoring session ends with a delicious, nutritious, home-cooked meal. We are asking groups of people to volunteer together to cook dinner for our students and tutors. This is an excellent way to get to know our After-School Tutoring Program and to meet our students and tutors. You can plan the menu and use our kitchen facilities to prepare the meal. You can either purchase your own supplies or we will provide the supplies for the meal. So, get together with your friends and get over to the Shared Ministry! In-Kind Donations: School Supplies - The Shared Ministry's After-School Tutoring Program is always in need of general school supplies. 25 children go through an awful lot of pencils, pens, tablets, drawing pads, markers, crayons, rulers, and erasers in a school year. If you have any of these items collecting dust in your home or office, consider donating them to our program. You may also want to think about having a small school supplies drive at your church or in your office. Educational Materials - Do you have flashcard, books, or educational games just taking up space in your home? Why not donate them to some needy children? They will really appreciate it and so will all of our volunteer tutors. Monetary Donations: Sending Money - All money donated to After-School Tutoring Program at The Shared Ministry will go directly to improving our program. Your monetary donations will help us to pay for the healthy meals we provide every week to our students and tutors. Your monetary donations will help us pay for new educational materials and school supplies. Your monetary donations will help us send our students home with books and learning materials that they can use over the summer. Please send monetary donations to The Shared Ministry, P.O. Box 15457, Harrisburg, PA 17105. Make sure that you enclose a note or memo saying you want your donation to go toward the After-School Tutoring Program. And remember, all your monetary donations to The Shared Ministry are tax-deductible because we are a non-profit!
